Volunteers

Thank you!
Thank you to all the volunteers involved with WRJC for your hard work over the last week at Dorney which led to such a successful outcome. Quoting from Ben Hunt-Davis, Chair of the Organising Committee:
"The feedback from athletes, coaches, team managers, spectators, FISA and LOCOG has been excellent. The championships were a real success and we achieved what we set out to do: give the athletes the best possible environment to perform at their best and do everything we could to help with testing for the Olympic regatta.
People keep saying that an event is made by the volunteers and it is. Athletes and spectators have more contact with volunteers than anyone else and they kept saying how friendly and polite and supportive everyone had been. Thank you.
Please stay in touch, put your photos on Facebook and keep volunteering."
Just in case any of you have missed them, there are accolades aplenty on the British Rowing site as well as the WRJC 2011 Channel on You Tube .
do go through the following links and re-live some great memories:

On a more mundane note, we do need to collect information from those on the ground of what went well and what went less well. Some of this we can use for preparing for next year's Olympic regatta, some will be more useful for organising other events - but without the feedback we cannot learn and improve. Do please send us your comments and suggestions, however off the wall, via yourTeam Leaders/ Function Heads.
Here's to seeing you all again very soon somewhere - on a river bank, or in a boat, or maybe back at Dorney for the Olympic & Paralympic Regattas in 2012
Best Wishes,
The WRJC 2011 Organising Committee
